“Brain Digital Twins in ataxia” aims at developing and using virtual models of the brain to advance the diagnostic and therapeutic/rehabilitation pathway in the direction of precision and personalized medicine. It is based on organized workflows for multiscale neural circuit reconstruction and simulation at different levels of detail. It includes neuroimaging data acquisition from patients with cerebellar ataxias. These data will be used to generate and optimize realistic brain models focused on the cerebellar networks. Pathology- and patient-specific structural and functional alterations will be introduced. Such tools will represent powerful instruments to shed light on ataxic mechanisms and to predict effectiveness of potential treatments.
