Prof. Egidio D’Angelo will give the talk entitled:

Artificial Intelligence and Brain Digital Twins

Knowledge is an infinite resource: it is the quintessential intangible asset upon which the development of society is built. In turn, communication plays a decisive role in the growth of knowledge itself, within a process of inexhaustible circularity.

This lecture series outlines a historical profile of how knowledge is generated and disseminated, through forms and methods in constant transformation, deeply connected to technological innovation and to the socio-political and economic dynamics of different eras.

However, the proposed lectures focus primarily on the present—on new opportunities for knowledge and the interconnected risks, amplified by the increasingly pervasive use of generative artificial intelligence, which stands alongside the inexhaustible creative source that is human genius.

How do these new ways of generating and communicating knowledge impact today’s use of language and images? Geopolitical and economic dynamics? What consequences do they have in fields such as medicine and justice? And in our understanding of history, amid writings, rewritings, and revisionism?

“Knowing how knowledge is born” also makes it possible to recognize its distortions, enabling a more conscious approach to media communication—especially journalism—which today often seems to be searching for a new identity.
